Hi All !!
Welcome back to my Blog J
It’s been many days haven’t gone
anywhere and also the cases decreased after the third wave. So we had to go
somewhere out for an outing. We wanted to go for a one day trip and less crowded
as well, so we choose to go Chaskaman Dam.
Chaskaman Dam is 66 KMs away from Pune. From Pune you need to drive on Nashik road until Rajgurunagar and take left turn and follow Wada road to reach Chaskaman Dam. It is one of Maharashtra's most important dams, and it is located in the Pune district of Rajgurunagar on the Bhima River. It's near Village Bibi in the Khed taluka, across the Bhima river in the Krishna basin. The dam's primary goal was to improve irrigation and provide electricity to local communities. The construction of this dam was started in month of July in year 2002 and completed during 2008-2009.
Some scenic view
After spending 3-4 hours we came one KM back and took a right turn to go to Dam. From the bridge it looks very awesome and need to walk a KM to climb the dam bridge. It is having 5 gates and the water flowing over the gates gives good view. I never had a very closer look of the dam before this.
The location of
the dam will mesmerize as when you look around from the dam bridge gives an
awesome view of dam construed around the mountains. After spending some time in
there and clicking many pictures we started back to home.
This place is a nice and calm
for a day trip in the lap of mother nature. You will feel relax as it’s not
crowed and also not far from the Pune city.
